Students

The PRIDoC 2022 Student Track is open to all Indigenous medical students and residents registered for PRIDoC. Made possible by our generous sponsors, these events offer an opportunity to connect and learn in Indigenous ways.

Meet fellow medical students and residents for an evening picnic at the beach! The famous Salmon and Bannock will be providing boxed meals for this casual, outdoor meetup Join the group walking from the hotel at 4:30pm or meet at Sunset Beach at 5:00pm.

Monday July 11, 2022

You will receive a packed breakfast as you board the bus outside the hotel at 8:00am.  Group A will begin with Elders and Dr. Mike Dumont at Lu'ma Medical Centre and Group B will begin with Knowledge Keeper T’uy’tanat-Cease Wyss at Stanley Park. The day will be filled with traditional and western  medicine teachings.  Both groups will meet for lunch at Trout Lake Park before switching venues.

Your bus will take you directly to the welcome reception at the Bill Reid Art Gallery 5:30-7:30pm. There will be time to socialize and enjoy the gallery while we enjoy light refreshments before we are welcomed onto territory by representatives from the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. As we continue to connect and reconnect, we will have the pleasure of experiencing Spoken word artist Shauntelle Charleson and and a warm welcome from IPAC.
